Kitto Ramen Has Soft Opened on 48th
Thanks to Lunch’er Edward for checking in at the end of the week to tell us about this… a new ramen spot has opened on 48th btw. Madison and 5th. According to Ed it’s only soft opened, but they’re serving ramen, banh mi, buns and rice bowls. The menu is after the jump… early adopters, let us know what you think in the comments.

Eh, I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and it came out to $13.07, which, fine. But it was barely spicy and it was missing the spicy corn. I took it back to my office and regret doing this as I could have eaten there and pointed it out there. Also, they mixed my order with another and had to take a moment to sort it. I’ll forgive that since it is a soft open. A little bland, and frankly not worth the $13 I paid.

Most offensive are the ramen topping prices. You’re not getting out with a decent meal under $20.

Got an order of the pork belly buns today. They were overpriced, but I wanted to give them a try anyway. The bun was pretty large and you get a pair, but there was one 2″x2″ cube of pork belly on each. One piece. One. The spicy sauce was delicious, but there needs to be more pork belly on that thing.

You’re either misinformed about what a cube looks like or you are misjudging how small 2 inches is. A 2″ cube of meat would be just slightly smaller than a standard size Rubik’s Cube.

I didn’t have my tape measure, so I went by the “an inch is about as big as the nail on your thumb” rule (not to be confused with the other rule of thumb). And I’d have to say, it probably wasn’t a perfect cube. Probably half as thick as it was wide and tall. Point being: it was small. Like, this big:
