Wafels & Dinges Gets Hassled, But Still Manages to Crown Mr. & Ms. Waffle 2010
And on National Waffle Day?! That’s not right. This is all we know right now… but we’re trying to find out exactly what happened over on 52nd btw. Lex+3rd today. Was anybody there for the crowning of Miss and Mister Wafel?
UPDATE: We’re hearing that the building and the cops have calmed down a bit… and they just crowned Miss and Mister Wafel (around 2:20pm). Photos and a full report coming soon.

You can’t hold back the crowd on National Waffle Day!
“The guy in the suit in the background was the security guy for Citi who was out for most of the event. The agreement seemed to be that if the line was kept close to the curb, and that people watching the event stayed off the grate, things would be fine. So there was much “please move or they’re going to shut us down” after this point.”
And big congrats to Mr. & Ms. Wafel 2010! Jonathan Leiter, 51, from Staten Island and Jasmine Hashi, 23, from Brooklyn.

and congrats on everyone keeping things nice and orderly, i know many a meet up when everyone just has to follow some set rules in order to keep things civil and then 10% of the people don’t and ruin it for everyone
