ERdS Cart Serving Off the Menu Al Pastor
The weather hasn’t exactly been taco cart friendly lately, but this news should get you pumped to hit the streets. El Rey del Sabor is now serving al pastor, spicy pork with pineapple, cilantro, and chipotle. $2.50 in a taco or $6 in a burrito and available at all three of their locations (43rd and 6th, 60th and 3rd, and the newest on Park and 49th.) One catch… it’s not on the menu. You’ve got to ask for it.

I had it a couple weeks ago. I think they were just testing it out and offered to change my pork taco to that. It was good. Sweet pineapple and spicy pork? YES PLEASE.

Are they still located on 49th and park? A friend went on Monday and did not see the cart…

They were there today, and they told me that the spot was working out for them so far, so expect to see them there regularly. Since it’s only 1 block from my office, expect to see me there regularly as well. They do a fantastic job. I love their food, and it’s always put together with skill and care.

They were there yesterday. I nearly froze to death waiting for my pastelillos (they did warn me the oil wasn’t ready).

I tried a huarache from the 43rd & 6th location a few days ago. Was seriously not impressed. I hope the other items are better.

I love al pastor! I’ve had two different varieties of it; one involves a very oniony red sauce and the other kind has pineapple. They’re both great. I will definitely be trying it at this place.

I had a craving for al Pastor so I made the trek to the 49th and Park cart from 44th and 2nd in the middle of this crappy weather. Spicy pork with pineapple did not disappoint.
…what’s the point?
