This Week is Clearly Going to Be All About Sweets
With Valentine’s Day just five days away, the internets is all about cookies and sweets this week! We just told you about the Treats Truck’s new specials, plus Dorie Greenspan’s new CookieBar opened yesterday on Park Ave. btw. 59+60th (you can get a good look at it on Serious Eats New York and Fork in the Road), and Bouchon Bakery has got their roster of treats ready to go. And we’re guessing that’s not the last of it…

I personally like sweets (esp. chocolate/ cake/ cookies) but pre-Valentine’s Day lunch specials for this work-week would be appreciated too.

Noooooo… Please. This site is Midtown LUNCH, not Midtown Dessert!!! There’s already too much “sweets” coverage here imo. Just because a truck sells sweets doesn’t mean it should receive heavy LUNCH coverage here! There are other sites for those with a rabid sweet-tooth (like B&B, perhaps?).
More streetmeat! Less street sweets!!!

Sweets are always a big part of Valentine’s Day, but I think a nice dinner is always more impressive and more appreciated than a box of chocolates! Only bad thing is that restaurants jack up prices on the big day. I’m looking for a way to pay less at a restaurant- not to pay more!
