Free Salad Alert
You know I don’t do salad, but for those of you who do… Chop’t is opening a new location on Broadway btw. 41+42nd, and as a training exercise for their staff will be giving away free food today from 11:30am to 1:30pm (or until food runs out.) [NYC Recession Diary]

I got there for 11:30 and sailed right in!! Free salad!!! Endless toppings. Zach, you could get the fried chicken salad. Anyway, now the line is quite long. I have pics, will post tomorrow.

Got there around 11:40. Salad in hand and out the door by 12:05. Anything you want is free (1 per person of course). Staff was beyond friendly considering what theyre dealing with. When I left the line was down the block to 42nd St. Good luck!

walked by around 12:10 line was already starting to curve around 42nd st. keep in mind that store is closer to 41st. not worth the wait.
