Who Wants Free Lunch For a Week?
On Tuesday I walked into the Japanese fast food spot Washoku Cafe, on 37th btw. Mad+5th, and it was hopping! I mean really crowded, especially compared to earlier in the year when they first opened. The quality of food at bento places like this is far better when there are crowds, and everything I saw yesterday looked really good. It was actually overwhelming. I’d need a small army to attack this place. Which got me thinking… why not assemble a small army?
I’m just one man. And sometimes I need help eating lunch. Sometimes one or two people will do it… other times I need a crew of 8. Interested in free lunch? All you have to do is become a fan of Midtown Lunch on Facebook, and starting next month I’m just going to start inviting people to lunch. Free lunch for you, more variety for me. After all, there is nothing grosser than one guy eating 7 lunches by himself (and believe me, I’ve tried.)
And as an added incentive (whether you want to eat free lunch with me or not) one Facebook fan will be selected on November 1st 2nd to receive free lunch for a week. Just for becoming a fan. And it doesn’t even have to be with me. Become a fan of Midtown Lunch on Facebook before the end of October, and you will be entered in a drawing to have your lunch paid for, by me, for an entire week. Cheap stunt to get people to promote ML on Facebook? Sure… but what do you care? It’s free lunch.

I really want free lunch (who turns down free food?) but have to decline the FACEBOOKing. I’m not with it anymore…
Big Fan of ML though. Oh well.

-
im already a fan of ML on FB! :)
-
Are pre-existing fans already in the running? :)
-
@adam – yup.

Fudge!! I’ve resisted Facebook forever. Friends have put out every bribe and insultimaginable to get me to snap. But none.. none I say, is as tempting as this…. ugggg… must resist.. must… so hungry :<

wow, 434 fans? Only about a dozen of us ever post on here.
-
Zach, you are discriminating against people without facebook accounts. I am disappointed, however I will still not participate.
-
I guess I’m surprisingly easy to bribe…
-
I’m with cheese for once – can’t do it. Facebook is not worth the un-guaranteed free food.
-
DONE! I am now an official FAN!
-
I agree with cheese and street. I have never facebooked and never will.
-
@hungry: I was a member in the first opening of .edu addresses (I think it was 25 schools). I deleted it when my grandmother signed up.
-
@cheese: I never facebooked but I was around for the livejournal and xanga days.
-
I’ve facebooked before but decided it’s not worth keeping and takes up too much valuable time so I haven’t since ‘08 and do not plan to go back. I was a long-time member since way back before their fancy apps. All they had going on was poke and nothing else. Back then, myspace was top shiz. Oh well. Not anymore.
I’ve had friends nagging me to go back but will NOT break…not even for free lunch (and who’s to say I get picked anyway).

Done and done!

Zach has sold out to The Man. It’s all about the benjamins for him now. *sigh*
-
I’m reluctantly on FB. I made the mistake of signing up for one app a while ago, but will not do that again. Same thing goes for becoming a fan of anything. Sorry bout that. I’ll have to live vicariously through others.

How many free lunches and how often? We deserve fair disclosure.
-
i would commute for that.

washoku is my go to place for some cheap eats, although i still prefer the katsu at gogo curry which is cheaper. The pork katsu rice bowl though at washoku with the fried egg and onions is totally awsome and is a ton of food. I have tried to eat my way through the menu but get stuck at two items. hard decision to make there is for sure.
