SoWe says I can have Pork for Lunch & Dessert

Sowe is a lovable neighborhood restaurant in Graduate Hospital. It is built for all occasions and cravings, they have lunch, brunch, dinner, happy hour, meat, vegan food, outdoor seating, and ice cream for dogs. Earlier this month, the chef updated the menu. I stopped for a leisurely lunch in the sun.

Post Passover Sweet and Salty Paninis from Panini’s

Since the end of Passover, I have been eating as much bread products as possible. Panini’s in Old City is a pretty much all-carb establishment. The lunch menu is a long list of sandwich, wraps, and panini combos. Exactly what I wanted.

Classy to Go from Fork: etc

A few years ago  I enjoyed a “classy” lunch with my mom and sister at Fork. The soft-shell grab and beef stroganoff were amazing. Last week, Profiled Luncher Kylie recommended the quick and cheaper lunches at Fork: etc. This is Fork’s take-out spot  next door and features a counter to order upscale soups, sandwiches, and fresh bread. Roast Pork Italiano from Nick’s Roast Beef in Old City

Hawk and Thad enjoyed the Al Pastor pizza there.  Some other friends of mine let me know Rosario’s was a good spot for delivery. So to be lazy, I placed my order. Wanting to try a pizza that hadn’t already been tested out by my fellow blog pals, I chose the mole topped pizza pie.

Paesano’s Meatloaf Parmesan Sandwich is basically a really good Meatball Sub

Paesano’s makes some of the best  sandwiches I have had in Philly. The attention to layering of flavors, the original sandwich spreads, and the brazen use of meats (fried livers?) make the difference. Having tried a whole bunch of what Paesano’s has to offer, when I saw a sandwich I didn’t recognize at the Italian Market location, I had to try it.

Brisket and Mac & Cheese Grilled Cheese from Valley Shepherd Creamery/MeltKraft in Reading Terminal

They Valley Shepherd Creamery, a Jersey based cheese farm, opened in the back of Reading Terminal last week. Besides offering their own cheeses, other people’s cheeses, and a sweet pickle bar, they make grilled cheese sandwiches. The good folks are happy to give you cheese samples to help you pick your poison. As the braided mozzarella is made fresh all day every day, I suggest at least trying a cube of that.
