Post Passover Sweet and Salty Paninis from Panini’s

Since the end of Passover, I have been eating as much bread products as possible. Panini’s in Old City is a pretty much all-carb establishment. The lunch menu is a long list of sandwich, wraps, and panini combos. Exactly what I wanted.

I chose the panini with soppressata, salami, gorgonzola cheese, and sliced pear. Pretty reasonable at $7.  I liked the idea of the combo of salty meat, funky cheese, and sweet fruit. The panini could have been pressed a little more. . The pears weren’t fresh, but at least the texture resembled more of the high quality jarred version than the slimy canned ones.It was served with a side of marinara which was quite random.

The reviews on Yelp imply that there is some inconstancy in the Panini’s kitchen. I was generally happy with my panini, so I think the key is ordering simple.
