We’ve Lost Some Trucks To The Weather Today: The weather has calmed down in time for lunch, which is good because we have Rickshaw on Wall & William, Morris Grilled Cheese at Water & John, Comme Ci Comme Ca's at Old Slip & Water and Crisp is at Hudson & King, while the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker tells us the WFC lot has Kimchi Tacos, Mexicue, Gorilla Cheese, Chinese Mirch and Taim Mobile.

A program called the Melting Pot Obscurities is coming to the Vesuvio Playground at Spring St. & Thompson on Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. What is this, you might be asking? Well, a guy named Eric Zawacki came up with the idea of making a menu of different cuisines and serving it at locations around the city. This is the second installment, and the menu is themed on Sunset Park which as you may know is a neighborhood in Brooklyn that has large Mexican and Chinese communities. I thought this city had reached a threshold for the number of grilled cheese trucks it could support, but I was wrong. Morris Grilled Cheese truck’s been on the streets for a while, but only recently became familiar to Downtown Lunch’ers by making weekly stops in the Financial District on Mondays and the World Financial Center food truck lot Fridays. (The truck happens to be at the Lent Space lot today). They have some interesting concoctions involving cheese, meat and fancy things like ramp butter along with housemade sodas and cold brew coffee. This is probably the most hipster of the grilled cheese trucks.

The Twitter Tracker Is Sweaty Today: On the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker...the Our Hero's slider cart's at Hanover Sq., now with arroz con pollo platters, Hibachi Heaven's at Hudson & Charlton, Korilla's at Varick & Vandam, Rickshaw's on Wall St., Bongo Brothers is at Old Slip & Water and Mexicue's at Water & Broad. The Lent Space has Morris Grilled Cheese, Eddie's Pizza, Kimchi Tacos, Now Eat This, Palenque and a newbie called Nuchas, and the WFC lot has Milk Truck with a $10 sammie and lemonade special, Taim Mobile, Frites N Meats, Andy's Italian Ice and Red Hook Lobster. Also: No Calexico carts due to the heat.

If you’ve walked down Broadway by Trinity Church, you may have noticed a blue cart selling things like baklava and other sweets, along with Greek salad and chicken and gyro sandwiches. Lunch’er blueprintu told us about the cart when answering profiled lunch’er Dan’s question of where he could find Greek food. The cart’s not always there, but they were yesterday when I walked by.
