4 Food’s “Big Board” Revealed! Opening Pushed Back Again: It looks like Eater might be the only people more excited than us for the opening of 4Food, the wacky new burger with a hole place opening on Madison & 40th. They snuck in and got a photo of the giant board, which is now operational.  Sadly you'll have to wait until September to try it out yourself.  They've pushed the Grand Opening back to September 7th.

Get 30% Off At Zengo: In April, we reported that the fried rice at Zengo (on 3rd Ave. btw. 40+41st) is kick-ass. Sadly their other lunch entrees are a bit over the ML lunch limit. Problem solved! Today's Blackboard Eats deal gets you 30% off lunch or dinner at Zengo. No purchase necessary, and the deal is good until Sept, but you have to sign up for it before the end of today.

Building Temporarily Closes Xie Xie: Apologies to Xie Xie (on 9th Ave. btw. 45+46th) for suggesting the other day that they were depriving their customers of air conditioning to save money.  Apparently their AC was broken, and they are now temporarily closed for renovations according to Eater.

Vendy Handicapping: It's the beginning of August, so Vendy Award finalists should be announced any day now. In anticipation of the big reveal The Feed Blog has compiled a list of vendors they expect to see in the finals (and, naturally, more than half of them are from Midtown.)  Less than two months to go until the big day!

Spice Fusion Closed Until Fall?: A few weeks ago we casually mentioned that Spice Fusion (on 8th Ave. btw. 47+48th) had been temporarily closed.  Well, according to their website "temporarily" is looking more like "indefinitely". Thanks to Lunch'er Sarah for the tip... clearly we need to find a decent $10 all you can eat Indian buffet replacement for the west side.  Any suggestions?

Somebody in Midtown Serves Corn & Plastic Soup: Mark Bittman took to his blog today to talk about plastic he found in a Midtown bowl of corn soup, and we want to know where he was!  There aren't many clues (it has servers, so it's probably not a Midtown Lunch, and it may or may not have been near Ma Peche, on 56th) but none of the obvious spots on the block have corn soup on their menu. Any guesses? [via Eater]

August Means New Custard Flavors at Shake Shack: Speaking of the new Shake Shack C line for quick custard acquisition... a new month means a new line up of custard flavors at the Shake Shack including Blueberry Coffee Cake, Cavaillon Melon, Basil, Chocolate Chuckles and today's flavor: Salted Caramel.
