What Happened to Carnegie John’s?: We got an email from luncher Ray yesterday noticing that Carnegie John's has not been at his usual spot on 56th and 7th Avenue. It's not the first time the legendary burger and chicken cart has disappeared. It went missing a few years ago due to some licensing issues. That might be the case again, or perhaps a vacation? Or the cart might have to be brought in for its annual inspection. Anybody have any word on the cart? Let's hope it returns very soon.

Phil’s Steaks is Back in Midtown Today: Remember Phil's Steaks, the cheesesteak truck we read about on Thillist a few weeks ago?  They've finally come to Midtown this week. Yesterday they were on 55th & B'way and today they're testing out 44th & 5th. Park & Lex Are Hoping With Trucks Today: Bob & Jo is on 47th btw. Park+Mad, Crisp on Wheels is on 53rd btw. Park+Mad, Luke's Lobster is on 51st & 7th, Seoul Food NYC is on 51st btw. Park+Mad, Kimchi Truck is on 55th & 6th, Eddie's PIzza is on 46th btw. 5+6th, and The Fishing Shrimp Truck is headed to 48th & Park. Steak N Shake Holding Company Profiled in the Times: The New York Times Dealbook has a good profile today of Sardar Biglari, the CEO of Bigalri Holdings which counts Steak N Shake amongst its wholly owned subsidiaries. The article does a lot to reaffirm the respect I have for Mr. Biglari's business acumen, but aggressive cost cutting isn't likely to reverse my negative opinion about the food.

Robicelli’s is Back in Midtown!: Word came out today that 2010 Best Cupcake Winner Robicelli's is back in Midtown! The cupcakes will be available at Bar 5F inside Bergdorf Goodman's (5th Ave at 58th St). The bar, on the store's 5th floor, is open until 8pm and today's flavors are Bailey's Cheesecake, Pecan French Toast, Caramel Macchiato, and Banana Cashew. If the cupcakes do well they'll hopefully become a regular item, so if you're a fan, get on over there!

Wafels & Dinges to Launch A New Truck: In a Statement to the Belgian King on their website, the Wafels & Dinges guys announced they would be launching a second truck very soon to get with their one truck, four carts, and various market locations. It sounds like the new truck (named KASTAAR) will be primarily used in the outer boroughs, but let's hope this means they will be able to have a location in Midtown proper every day of the week now. No more excuses...
