Most Things at O Bao Noodles & Grill Will be Under $10: More on O Bao from Michael Huynh himself: "We [will] have pad thai, pad see ew, but we make it better. We've also got Singapore noodles, which I make with black soba; it's better than the original one with vermicelli... Most things will be under $10. We'll open in the beginning of September, maybe the 15th." This is sounding better and better.

No Taiwanese Fried Chicken For You Today: The NYC Cravings Truck was named one of the 10 best food trucks in the country by GQ! They usually spend Fridays on 53rd btw. Park+Lex, but sadly their truck is in the shop and won't be open today.  To make up for it, they said they will come back in that spot on Wednesday.  Follow them on twitter, or on the ML Twitter Tracker.

Hot Dog Cart Eviction Leads to More Questions: When a hot dog vendor fails to pay his $53,000 a month rent to the city, and gets evicted from his spot in front of the The Met, a few questions come to mind (naturally.)  Slate attempts to answer a few of them, like "He paid how much!?!" and "Seriously? Are you sure he paid that much?"

Free Iced Coffee & Cookies Alert: Tomorrow (Thursday, August 13th) the ING Direct Cafe on 3rd Ave. and 58th Street will be giving away free iced coffee and shortbread cookies from 11:30am to 1:30pm. It's only at this new location, and you'll probably be subjected to "savings tips", but whatever. It's free iced coffee and cookies! Freeloaders engage.

What the Hell is a Cupcake Kebab?: Two former profiled Midtown Lunch'ers (among others) will attempt to break food related records at tonight's Universal Record Database (URDB) event at Crash Mansion (in the LES).  Lunch'er Rachel (from Cupcakes Take the Cake) is going for longest cupcake kebab (?) and Lunch'er "Harry" (from the Brooklyn Kitchen) will go for "most cherries pitted in one minute."

Free Rib Alert: Virgil's (on 44th btw. B'way+6th) is having their annual "Ribstock" thing this afternoon. Free ribs will be handed out from 5:30 to 7:30pm [Zagat's]

Jittery Joe’s Comes to NYC: Thanks to Lunch'er "Frank" for passing along this one: A branch of Jittery Joe's has opened on 45th btw. 2+3rd. in the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM) College. Anybody heard of this place? I think it's a Georgia chain.

Out With the Pies, In With the Cupcakes: Eater is reporting that the Grand Central branch of Little Pie Company has closed, and will be replaced by Magnolia Bakery. Collective groan in 3...2...1...

Twitter Tracker: If you didn't look at the ML Twitter Tracker this morning you may have missed this: Street Sweets truck is taking a "much needed" vacation, the Schnitzel Truck is back in the same spot as yesterday, and Miss Softee & the Treats Truck might have something up their sleeve for today. (I hope it's this!)

Fried Calamari Goodness: It looks like Lazzarra's (38th btw. 7+8th) is still serving the fried calamari sandwich they entered in the Midtown Lunch Sandwich Challenge.  Simply Sandwiches has a pretty in depth look at the thing, complete with a graph that plots strategy/execution (it falls in the brilliantly highbrow area.)
