Cer Te Intros October Sandwich: To promote their new pizza place set to open next month, Cer Te (on 55th btw. 5+6th) will be offering one of the sandwiches from that menu as their October Special starting today: the Tuscan Cheesesteak, featuring grass-fed beef meatballs sautéed with peppers and onions, romano cheese on an organic garlic semolina bread with fresh mozzarella ($8.95)

Barros Luco is Officially Open: From the owner of Barros Luco, the new Chilean sandwich place on 52nd and 2nd: "I just want to let you know the menu with prices has been updated on my website. We opened our doors for the soft opening this weekend and I am happy to inform things have gone well. We will be open with normal business hours of 11am to 10pm starting on Monday."

Free Tea if You Order Online at Cafe Zaiya: Cafe Zaiya's new website is now fully operational, with their entire menu available for online ordering (until now, they only had a limited number of items available.)  To celebrate, all week long (10/5-10/9) everyone who orders online will get a free Itoen Tea.

Dessert Truck Officially Belongs to the LES: It's official... the Dessert Truck, which was closed by the city a few months ago over permit issues, is opening a brick and mortar store at 6 Clinton St. on the Lower East Side.  I was going to take solace in that fact that we can still get their Chocolate Bread pudding at the RS Hotel, but they've now stopped doing that as well.  Bummer.

Free Coffee and Snacks from the 80s (?) Alert: The ING Direct Cafe (on 58th and 3rd) is having some sort of 80s party today from Noon to 2pm, featuring free classic arcade games (fun!), "80’s snack food items" (whatever that means?), and a raffle to win Pat Benatar tickets (whoa!)  Plus if you mention Midtown Lunch, they'll give you a free coffee.

I’m a Psuedo Tool: From our Happy Hour correspondent Mamacita: "So I'm reading Details mag and they have 63 signs you may be a pretentious tool. #27 You're a facebook fan of a food cart or truck. #44 You photograph your food." Nice. Just don't call me foodiot.

Taxi Gourmet Hits Up Kwik Meal: When I stopped by Kwik Meal last week for a pre-Vendy lunch, I was actually joined by Layne the "Taxi Gourmet" (the blogger who hails cabs and asks them to take her to their favorite restaurants.)  See what she had to say about her very first lamb over rice platter.

Twitter Tracker: Free goodies and more on the ML Twitter Tracker today... Streets Sweets is on 50th and giving away free Vitamin Water, Cupcake Stop is giving away free minis in Madison Sq. Park courtesy of Animal Planet, and Cer Te (on 55th btw. 5+6th) reminds everyone today is Thanksgiving Dip day.

Free Cookie Alert: October is National Cookie Month (who knew?) so to celebrate Mrs. Fields is giving away free cookies today from 11am to 1pm.  All three Midtown locations are participating (Rock Center, Herald Square, & Port Authority).  [via NYCHAR Adventures]

Katsuhama Has Reopened: The original Katsuhama (on 47th btw. Mad+5th), which closed a few weeks ago for renovations, has reopened. The good news for cheap Midtown Lunch'ers is that Sushi Tei, the little take out area in the front of the restaurant, is still serving cutlet bentos from the Katsuhama kitchen.
