Winter Makes the Shake Shack a More Do-Able Midtown Lunch: It's really cold out... which means it's winter... which means the Shake Shack in Madison Square Park is now taking phone orders (212-889-6600)... which means now you easily make it down there and back to work in under an hour... but it's only through 2/28. Thanks to the Feed Blog for pointing out this great news.

It’s Freakin’ Cold Out: Me thinks is a good day for soup. Don't forget you get free spring rolls with every order of bun bo hue at OBAO (on 53rd btw. 2+3rd), or take Blondie and Brownie's advice and go for a big bowl of tonkotsu ramen from Men Kui Tei (on 56th btw. 5+6th).

This is Just Wrong: Here in NYC a business just calls the cops when they want to get rid of a street vendor. In LA, it looks like they get a bit more creative.

I Should Have Eaten General Tso’s Today!: For those keeping score, one year ago today the "Midtown Lunch Buffet Team" went from one member to two. Kind of pissed I didn't eat some crappy Chinese food on 10th Ave. to celebrate.

I Wouldn’t Have Thought It Possible…: but according to numerous lunchers another Crumbs is opening on Broadway btw. 37+38th.  "One of the workers inside said it should be open within couple of days." Will the madness ever end?

88 Cent Pop Burger Alert: Pop Burger (on 58th btw. Mad+5th) and 8coupons are doing another of their special deals next Tuesday, 12/8. Text yourself the coupon and get two pop burgers for 88 cents from 2-6:30pm. The whole "after 2pm" thing is kind of lame, but it's still a good deal for burgers that normally cost $7.

Leg of Lamb Gyro Reminder: If you missed it last week, today is leg of lamb "gyro" day at Cer Te (on 55th btw. 5+6th.) They ran out pretty quickly last Wednesday (despite it being the day before Thanksgiving) but say that they're ready today.

Possible Free Burrito Alert: Just got word that a new Chipotle is opening on 37th and 7th. tomorrow, which means tonight from 5-8pm they'll be giving away free burritos. Technically you're supposed to have an invitation (which they've been handing out around the hood) but if you work in the area it might be worth swinging by. The worst they can do is turn you away!
