At Lunch Now: Midtown Lunch’s Buffet Team Has Doubled
My personal goal of creating a buffet eating arsenal through spreading my personal DNA took a big leap forward today. Meet Harry, the first member of this exclusive club, who entered the world this morning weighing in at 6 lbs 8 oz (or as I would say, $50.60 at the Cafe Duke by the lb. buffet.) My celebratory lunch? General Tso’s chicken and pork fried rice (of course) from the closest Chinese dive to the hospital (some random place on 10th Ave. btw. 51+52nd.) That *adorable* photo is after the jump…

One of the first things I did after becoming a father for the first time was to set up a college fund. 20 years later, I have found out that no amount of college savings is adequate to meet the expense of private education. The second thing I did was to obtain life insurance…and that’s where Midtown Lunch becomes relevant: you gotta avoid the cholesterol-laden choices, at least until after you get the life insurance. If you’ve got a high cholesterol, it’s gonna be tough to get life insurance at anything close to a reasonable rate.Now, stop blogging and go nurse the kid.

I just knew that no ML update before noon meant baby was on the way.
Nice work Zach – but having a dependent means eating right, exercising and bringing heart-healthy packed lunches from home. It’s kinda like taking the keys away from a drunk driver.

Congrats man! What a cute kid! In only 6 yrs, you can start Harry off right by attempting the 100 grams of fat lunch challenge! I did the same to my baby brother back in 1990 when he was about 6 1/2 (11 plus years younger than me). He ate a big mac, large fries, 3 cheeseburgers, 9 piece mcnuggets, apple pie, ice cream and large coke. Isn’t it “curious” he is now 5′8′ 230lbs????

So have you heard about eating the placenta? I am in my last trimester and I have a coworker and fellow midtown luncher who jokes about eating my placenta, I know it’s gross but all jokes aside I did research and for various reasons people eat it.
