The Pizza At Zeytuna Is A Hidden Gem

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve scavanged in the basement of Zeytuna on Maiden Lane (at William) for a decent lunch, and usually ended up with soup or a random container of stuff from the by-the-pound buffet. Yes, even serious lunch’ers have lame lunches once in a while. When I’ve ventured further afield to the Mexican station or tried the falafel I’ve only been met with disappointment and regret. Lunch’er Mel recommended the pizza (and Indian) which I’d never thought to try. Grocery store pizza, here we come! Read more »

Mediterranean Snack Cart At Zeytuna Fulfills Your Maffle Needs

Grocery store/lunch favorite for tons of downtown office works Zeytuna has had what they call a Mediterranean snack cart set up outside on John St. (at Nassau) for a little while now, and I have been meaning to try it. I didn’t so much want to eat there because it was new, but because they seemed to have a pretty random assortment of food. We’re talking something called a maffle, some sort of sandwich called a dove, crepes and “corn in the cup.” Oh, and samosas! Happy Hour Alert: 2 For 1 Beer At Zeytuna

width=I know this has nothing to do with lunch, but lunch’er Jason sent in a photo and intel that Zeytuna has a good happy hour deal going right now where you can get 2 beers for the price of 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. I’m guessing this is to get people to come in and try the outdoor cafe that’s now open until 9 p.m. instead of closing after lunchtime. When I walked by today, the menu wasn’t outside, maybe due to the rain, so I’m not sure how much their drinks cost. I didn’t even know that they served alcohol, but hey, now you can have a beer with your falafel platter.
