The Malaysia Kitchen Food Truck started roaming the city giving out free food last week, but only hit midtown. This week they’re coming downtown Tuesday and Wednesday to park on Canal & Lafayette (find the schedule on their Web site or on Twitter) and it looks like Nyonya will be providing food those days if you’re looking for a free lunch or snack.

Possible Free Ice Cream At Seaport: Thanks to lunch'er Serene for the heads up that as of an hour ago a truck was parked at the north end of South Street Seaport giving out free Van Leeuwen ice cream. Head on over if you're a freeloader who doesn't mind tourists!

Free Popsicle Alert: Downtown lunch'ers can get a free popsicle today from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. on Vesey St. btw. Broadway and Church as part of the Cooking's Channel's promotion with People's Pops. According to Twitter they'll also be in Midtown on East 47th btw. 2nd and 3rd from noon to 1:30. Take that 100 degree temperatures!

More mobile sweets are coming to the South Street Seaport, with Cupcake Stop bringing a new truck to Pier 17 at Fulton St. starting Thursday. If you are truly a cupcake addict and a freeloader, then you can take a picture of the truck roving around the city from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today or Wednesday and send it to the truck via Twitter or Facebook to win four of their classic cupcakes. The cupcakes join a permanent cart from Wafels & Dinges that launched a couple of weeks ago. This only means that more tourists on a sugar high will make their way into Abercrombie & Fitch.
