Find Out If The World Financial Center Has Any Good Restaurants On Thursday: Restaurants in the World Financial Center are giving you a taste of some of their signature items on Thursday starting at 11 a.m. in the Winter Garden. You can sample things from P.J. Clarke's, Au Mandarin, Devon & Blakely's and Financier, among others, for $1 to $5. It sounds pretty similar to the Dine Around Festival from last year and sounds like it will let you sample places otherwise out of the Midtown Lunch price range.

Vendy Award Nominations Are Open: Whether or not you're going to the Vendy Awards on Governor's Island Sept. 25 (which you totally should), word on the street is you can now nominate your favorite downtown vendor for the top honor until July 17. The nomination form is here and you can buy the $85 tickets for the event through a link on the same page. As a bonus, if you nominate a vendor you'll be up to win two tickets to the event. Let's get some downtown carts nominated to we can give midtown a little competition!

Late Lunch Opportunity At Tribeca Food Cart Market Today: An organization called Grameen America that provides loans to some food cart vendors in all five boroughs is having a market at St. John's University Campus on Murray St. (at West) today from 1:30 to 4:30. Food options will include Caribbean, Ecuadorean, Puerto Rican and Southeast Asian, and the vendors keep the money and get exposure. If you're up for a late lunch go check out some vendors you otherwise couldn't get downtown (or anywhere in Manhattan)!

ESPN Match Truck Back At Bowling Green Today: The ESPN Match Truck that's been making the rounds of the city with its international food deliciousness will be back at Bowling Green today starting at 9 a.m. You can check them out on Twitter, and just take my word for it that it's worth a visit just for the bunny chow.

Qba Cuban Kitchen Truck In FiDi Today: A newish truck from New Jersey, Qba Cuban Kitchen, will be serving up food in the Wall St. area today starting around noon, according to their Twitter post this morning. Sounds like they have sandwiches, rice and beans, and of course, pork, and midtown already got a taste of it. Will let you know when they have an exact parking location up.

ESPN Match (And Food) Truck At Bowling Green Today: A lunch'er brings word that an ESPN truck serving international food and broadcasting World Cup matches is parked at Bowling Green today (Broadway & Battery Pl.) You can check out their locations on Twitter but it looks like they'll be there again Thursday and on June 29. I know what I'm having for lunch today!

Mayor Bloomberg Flip-Flops On Food Truck Issue: When Mayor Bloomberg's office submitted a letter of opposition against Council Member Jessica Lappin's proposed anti-food truck law, it surprised some people. Now he's come out against the food trucks on his radio show. Sounds like someone may have gotten some angry phone calls since last week.
