A post in the forums alerted me that a sign had gone up on the forthcoming location of Luke’s Lobster on S. William St. (btw. Hanover Sq. and Broad). They were painting when I walked by, so that must mean that lobster rolls are coming soon, right? Hopefully we’ll get a preview of the goods if their new truck makes its way down (hint, hint).

This Red Mango on Fulton St. (nr. William) may have been open for a couple of days now but I just noticed it earlier in the week. It looked like they were doing some training and not actually dishing out frozen yogurt yesterday but hopefully they will be today. So now you can get some falafel from Crisp and wash it down with some raspberry cheesecake frozen yogurt while admiring the view of the gigantic hole in the street out front.

Wafels, Day 2 Of Souvlaki GR: I guess Old Slip treated Souvlaki GR well because they're back in the same spot today. Also on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker, Bian Dang is on State St., Wafels & Dinges is in the FiDi (check back for location) and also has a cart on Greenwich in Tribeca. Cupcake Crew is on South & Fulton, Korilla BBQ is on Front and Joyride is on Hudson in SoHo.

The Broadway Gourmet Food Market is not somewhere I would ever think of getting lunch. First of all it’s in the super touristy block of Broadway between Prince & W. Houston streets, and second of all it’s first impression is of a terrible overpriced generic deli. But a couple of weeks ago I was in desperate need of something to drink and popped in, only to discover that they serve legit-looking tacos and burritos…and bibimbap. The low price of the second item called to me and I decided to return and try it out. Read more »

Barely five months after opening, the location of Hello Pasta on Maiden Lane is already closed. I wasn’t overly impressed when I checked it out in January right after it opened and others seemed to think that it was overpriced for something you could possibly make yourself. I guess this is one step back in their plans to launch a pasta empire. Click through to see the slightly strange sign posted in the window.

It looks like we’ll have to wait one more day to try the new kiosk from Fatty ‘Cue, Fatty Snack, that went in behind the World Financial Center by the marina. A big thanks to Lunch’er Tom who snapped some pictures and wrote in to say he tried to eat there today but they said they were “having some difficulties”, and are planning to start serving us delicious meats tomorrow. What kinds of deliciousness do you have to look forward to? Menu straight ahead.

Souvlaki Truck Is In The FiDi!: I believe it's the first time Souvlaki Truck has ventured to the FiDi, and you can find them at Old Slip. Big D's Grub truck is on Hanover Sq. where they were serving breakfast and stayed for lunch. Also on the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker, Cevap Truck is on Water, La Cense is on Barclay, Korilla BBQ is on Varick and Taim Mobile is on Hudson with red pepper falafel. Kelvin Slush has ventured down to Hudson, and it's $2 taco day at Toloache.
