Maison Kayser’s Bryant Park Location is Finally Open

After a long wait, Maison Kayser has finally opened its Bryant Park outpost on 40th St. (btw 5th+6th Ave.). Most items on their lunch menu exceed the ML limit (although brandade and a croque-madame would make for an epic splurge), but we’ve heard good things about their pastries and breads. If you work farther north, their Columbus Circle location opened a few weeks ago.

Will Maison Kayser’s Midtown Outpost Ever Open?

We reported back in 2012 that Maison Kayser, the artisan boulangerie with an outpost on Upper East Side, would be opening a new location on 40th St. (btw 5th+6th Ave.) across from Bryant Park next to LT Burger. Back then, their signage indicated a January 2013 opening. Clearly, that didn’t happen. Now the signage says they’re due to open in Spring 2013, a time that has also passed. All this begs the question, will Maison Kayser ever open in Midtown? And perhaps more importantly, given their high prices, how much do any of you care?

Maison Kayser’s Newest Location Will Be in Midtown

The Parisian bakery Maison Kayser has been getting all sorts of attention in New York since they opened up their first US outpost on the Upper East Side. Signage is up now for one of the new locations right across from Bryant Park on 40th Street. It’s due to open in January (after a Flatiron location debuts in November) and will serve mostly take-out, but with their same fancy sourdough bread and pastries.
