Mai Cuisine Now Delivers: Sushi and bento fans can now enjoy Mai Cuisine (on 41st btw. Mad+5th) without leaving the safety of their office. Mai delivers lunch from 11:30-4:30, and their delivery zone extends from York Ave. to 11th Ave. and 23rd St. to 59th St. I enjoyed Mai Cuisine when I tried it, even if the prices were a little steep. This just in from Lunch’er “Matt”… Mai Sushi, the re-branded Chiyoda on 41st btw. Mad+5th, is now open to the public. According to Matt “It was a mad house at 1:30 but all the food looks exactly the same.”

Thanks to everyone who tipped us off to this one (including this post in the forums.) Chiyoda Sushi, the upscale portion of the Japanese holy trinity on 41st btw. Mad+5th (along with Cafe Zaiya & Yagura), has closed. As of Friday there were some serious renovations going on, and a letter posted on the door said that the restaurant will reopen as Mai Cuisine on September 2nd, “providing all-natural sushi and Japanese cuisine, with the highest quality ingredients.” Uh… sounds a lot like Chiyoda if you ask us!
