BREAKING: DOH HITS MY FAVORITE CHINESE FOOD

This just arrived in the Midtown Lunch Inbox: “FYI, walked by Hing Won this morning (on 48th btw. 5+6th) and it is closed by the Department of Health.”  I think I speak for everyone when I say “Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo(t surprising)”  Ignoring Hing Won’s dirtiness is something I’ve been doing for quite awhile.   This changes nothing.  Got news to share?  We’ll take it here (even the stuff that’s hard to hear.)

  • DOH has no idea what they are talking about.

  • Did anyone else ever see those big plastic buckets filled with sludge/toxic waste matter(?) by the dirty dishes depot? I always noticed them after I had already eaten the meal and vowed never to go back again, yet selective memory always brought me back…

  • I couldn’t find a 2008 violation, however I did see this on their 2007 violation: 64 points ouch! I think you need 27 to pass.

  • dammit! didn’t they do bubble tea?

  • Fake bubble tea. Though better than no bubble tea, clearly.

  • The sign says they were closed by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Mental Hygiene? Were they having impure thoughts? Where am I going to get my Shrimp Noodles or Congee in the morning??

  • I actually had Teriyaki Boy yesterday for lunch and last night, I wook up 6 times to use the bathroom…Needless to say, my bottom is hurting A LOT. I wonder how clean Teriyaki boy is.
