Lunch Hour Exhibit Launches Next Week at the New York Public Library

Next Friday is going to be a big day for us pro-lunchers, the New York Public Library will be holding the best exhibit ever to grace the Schwarzman Building (that’s the one on 42nd+5th with the lions): “Lunch Hour NYC“. This exhibit has been months in the making, I first heard about it over on librarian Rebecca Federman’s blog Cooked Books in November, and have been patiently waiting for it to open ever since. The exhibit will span the creation of the office lunch (terrible bosses giving people less than a half hour to eat), school lunches, a recreated Automat (no word on the Mobile-Mat that once appeared in Bryant Park), street vendors (naturally), lunch menus, and everything in between. Being as it’s at the NYPL, visiting the exhibit will be free for you and the perfect way to spend your lunch hour.

Check out a cool video promoting the exhibit, after the jump…
