DOH Letter Grades Have Begun to Appear
Couldn’t help but notice that DOH letter grades are starting to pop up all over Midtown. Unsurprisingly, the ultra clean looking Zibetto Espresso Bar got an A, as did E-Mo in Koreatown. But we’re a little more interested in the grades that will gross out our boring co-workers (like seeing a Cafe Metro or McDonald’s with a C), or something that would be shocking to Midtown Lunchers (like Ying Du getting an A). I’ve only seen A’s displayed. Like at least 11 of them. Never seen anything below that. I’m curious as to the rules of display also.

I think we’ll have to wait a while for the B’s and C’s to appear because of the courtesy re-visit. By then I think it will be safe to say that the a C on display either means, “This restaurant is nasty,” or “This restaurant don’t give a fuck” or both.

I am so pleased that these ‘Sanitary Inspection Grade’ posts by the NYC Dept. of Health, are being posted.
It makes me feel much better knowing that my friends in Midtown are easily able to choose safe, clean lunches.
I mean, everyone, EVERYONE, including Midtown Lunchers, should be able to enjoy a fine lunch experience without, WITHOUT, worrying about rodent droppings, possibly embedded cockroaches, filthy handling, and other generally unclean practices.
I will, indeed, sleep better tonight.

My building’s cafeteria got an A.
I’ve seen this as well. Is it optional, or is anything other than an A hidden in the bowels of the kitchen somewhere?
