Your First Look at the New Midtown BRGR

In the forums yesterday there was news about a new BRGR opening at the edges of the ML border, by 61st and 3rd ave. (We can’t be everywhere, and always appreciate it when you guys let us know about stuff like this.) I stopped by to check out the scene and see what’s on the menu. They tout grass-fed beef burgers from $7.55 to $10 with all sorts of fillings. They all seem to come with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and pickles though. Fries are $2.50, sweet potato fries are $3.50, and the shakes are $5.50. You can see their full menu on their website, and a shot of the interior is after the jump.

The original location (on 7th Ave. btw. 26+27th) is a go-to lunch for the folks at  A Hamburger Today… Anybody been to that location yet, or this new one?  Let us know how it is in the comments.

BRGR, 1026 Third Avenue (on corner of 61st Street)

  • As a follow up to my original post I went back today to try the beef burger (I had only had the turkey last time). Talk about a letdown! Dry, overcooked patty. If it werent for the toppings I’d have had no flavor at all. A shame really. At least the sweet potato fries were still great and plentiful. Guess I’ll stick with goodburger unless i have the urge for a late afternoon fried snack.

I stopped by today. I had the “fresh morning brgr” and I thought it was good. Much better than the Frites ‘n Meats burger I had last week. I also had a black and white shake which was tasty even though they don’t make it the traditional way (with the chocolate syrup coating the outside of the glass – it was mixed together – which usually annoys the hell out of me).

  • I tried it yesterday. I had the THE BEAUTIFUL DAY BRGR. It was excellent. I think this place will be a contender for the ML Annual Best Burger if enough people get to try it.

I also tried the fries, sweet potato fries, and fried onion thingys. They were good. Their regular fries might be better than the sweet potato fries.

Only downer was it took at least 15 minutes to get my food and they weren’t busy. Either way, this place is worth trying.

I like it. The burger is alittle skimpy, I expected a much thicker “real” burger, but got a fastfood “Mc donalds” style thin burger. But the bread, cheese, sauce and topping made the burger. I love the decor, thought it was super cool and well done and really like the promotion of the healthier grass feed meat. Even the floors looked like grass, very very cool.
