Argo Tea is Coming Soon to Midtown

Argo Tea at Columbus Circle

Chicago based Argo Tea (aka the Starbucks of tea), will soon open in Columbus Circle! (On Broadway btw. 58+59th) Their first NY location opened some months ago in the Flatiron building and, I have to admit, I’ve been sneaking out of Midtown on occasion to freeload on wifi while nursing chai tea there. If you hate coffee/love tea there is a wide variety…  hot and iced tea, loose tea, tea pots, plus prepared foods like sandwiches, salads, and pastries. A lot of people won’t like the idea of another beverage chain taking over NYC street corners, but I can’t help but love them. Anyway, Grom is opening soon too right next door. And what better way to wash down delicious gelato than some delicious tea?

  • oh man! i wish i worked on the west side…. i loooove GROM!!!!! and argo tea sounds pretty sweet too

  • The Flatiron location is beautiful but is the tea really worth it? I’ve looked but haven’t tried yet. I usually just brew my own.

    • hmm…if you’re used to brewing your own, I imagine paying $2+ for tea anywhere will be hard to stomach. Still, I think it’s worth a try! I love the space and the huge array of teas at Flatiron. The baristas are so nice too! Hopefully they can recreate that environment in Midtown.

I am one of those people you speak to that hates coffee but loves tea! I’ll have to check this out. I’m mostly in the west village, which is where I found my new favorite tea spot, called The Tea Set, which offers organic tea and champagne. Right now, you can get $20 worth of take home tea for $10 and $30 worth of food and drink for $15. Saw it on BuyWithMe NYC – you can access more information here http://bit.ly/b5pi8b

  • can someone refresh my memory on the definition of “shill?”
