Juan Valdez Says Hasta Luego
As Tim Horton’s, Stumptown, Ecco, and Intellegentsia begin their invasion of NYC, an old standby a strange Disney’ish brand run by the National Federation of Coffee Growers in Columbia is saying goodbye. We have it on good authority that all 3 Juan Valdez locations in Midtown will be closing up in the next couple of months.

Colombia is a place where they grow cocaine, Columbia is a place where they use cocaine. There’s a big difference.
They actually have Juan Valdez cafes in Colombia. I had an awesome Patacon sandwhcih ouside the one in Cartagena.

That’s sad.. it was like the Starbuck from an alternate dimension.. a cooler, better coffee dimension.
