Thursday is Peking Duck Pancake Day at Yushi
It’s been awhile since we heard from Yushi, the slightly too expensive, slightly too hipster, but creative and tasty sushi and bento place on 47th btw. Lex+Park (the one with the refrigerated conveyor belt.) Clearly they’ve just been biding their time in anticipation of dropping this bombshell… Starting today Yushi will have Peking duck pancakes as a Thursday special (three, plus fried rice for $8.95.) I hear they did this at their downtown location, and it was crazy successful (have any of our downtown lunchers tried these?) Plus I liked their peking duck sushi rolls. Could be good.
I hate posting glossy, done up PR photos, but in this case I think it’s helpful just so you can have realistic expectations. Check it out after the jump…
So clearly these aren’t going to be the $1 duck buns you get outside the subway in Flushing’s Chinatown, but still could be good. Early adopters, let us know how they are in the comments (late lunch anybody?), and I’ll get a real photo (and taste) to post next Thursday. If Downtown is any indication, the lines for these could get crazy.
Yushi, 245 Park Ave. (on 47th btw. Lex+Park), 212-687-1900

I’m more interested in those $1 duck buns. Looks like a flushing trip is in order.

Peking Duck Success – so the sign outside said Wednesday (which I guess is because they took it from downtown). They will have duck downtown Weds and midtown on Thurs.
Quite tasty – not sure how many ducks they had for the crowd though. Seems like one duck netted them about 10 orders of 3 wraps each. Which makes them about half the size of a wrap you’d get at say Peking Duck House on 53rd/3rd.

that looks really fresh!
