Menchanko Tei on 55th is Back Open

This just in from Lunch’er Daniel re: Menchanko Tei (on 55th btw. 5+6th) which was closed by a fire at the beginning of the year. “I was walking back from dinner last night, and realized the lights coming from the restaurant weren’t the renovators’ but actually diners. I stepped in to say hello, and most of the old staff was there and greeted me. It’s wonderful to see them up and running again, and just in time for a cold spring.”

  • Just got back. Amazing! Puts Men Kui Tei on 56th to shame (both food wise as well as ambience). Don’t know if they made any improvements in the renovation (had never been there before). Definately the goto place for Ramen.

Full by 12:15, 70%+ Asian with most of those Japanese. Good sign.
