Certe Replacing Bayou Sandwich With Something For the Vegetarians

Certe's "Bayou" Sandwich
If you wanted this, today is your last chance.

Today is the last day for Certe’s catfish sandwich, so if you’ve been putting off trying their second entry in the Midtown Lunch Sandwich Challenge– this is your last chance. Tomorrow they’ll introduce an April sandwich, The Primavera: featuring crispy eggplant, zucchini and yellow squash with basil ricotta, fresh mozzarella on a homemade garlic herb focaccia for $8.95. Compared to most of our entries, this seems a tad bit standard- but I guess if you’re a vegetarian, a sandwich with fried eggplant and basil ricotta on fancy garlic bread would be as good as it’s going to get! Certe is on 55th btw. 5+6th.

  • Damn them, damn them all.

  • I wonder the size of this new sandwich for that price.

  • That veggie one doesn’t sound too bad. What was the overall consensus on the catfish? Did everyone like it after all?

  • Contrary to how some people interpreted my post… I really liked it!

  • Fish sandwich wasn’t bad, decently sized and the jambalaya spread was pretty cool…still, I had that wierd “I just ate something from a midtown deli” feeling in my stomach afterward.

  • Deli and Cart Food can’t come close to what the Walgreens Burger/Sandwich could do to your stomach.

  • shhh dougie… zach’s manhood is still smarting over the ‘walgreens incident’…

  • Haha. Sorry Zach. I’m still waiting for the day when we all go nuts from seeing the autopsy pick of the Walgreen’s sandwich. It’ll be a glorious, triumphant day for all midtown lunchers.

  • Reminds me that I still haven’t made it to the TS Walgreens for a tasty deli sandwich. I might pick up a couple and turn it into a combo creation. Pics will follow….

  • I tried the veggie sandwich today. It was excellent. It’s not packed with flavor, but like ll Certe food it’s very fresh, tastes and looks great, and is filling. I enjoyed it.
