Moshe’s Falafel Gets Stomped by Union Sq. Competition

Apparently Moshe’s Falafel (on 46th and 6th) has another truck parked in Union Square, but according to Ed Levine it doesn’t hold a candle to the other falafel options in the area (Maoz, Rainbow, and Pita Joe). If they expand the competition to other areas, Midtown Lunch would totaly get behind Olympica Pita (on 38th btw. 5+6th) and the Azuri Cafe (on 51st btw. 9+10th).

Cheers to Ed for agreeing that Moshe’s is awful.

Note: the reason it tastes “mealy” is that it’s mostly breading and filler, i.e., actual “meal.”

What’s the deal, Zach? Trying to steal the thunder from my ML profile?

He nailed it. I blogged a year ago that Maoz was the best falafel in NYC… and it is. The flavor is fantastic, and the ‘make it yourself’ thing ensures that you make the sandwich you want. For Maoz lovers, there is also a new UWS locale as well….

I had maoz the other day, i didn’t care for it. The pita is pretty small so you can’t pack the salad bar into it very easily or well.

I happen to think Moshes is awesome. Fresh food and great service. For the price NO ONE can beat the size of Moshes sandwich
