Big Bowl Noodles is now Main Noodle House
A lot of restaurants seem to choose the dead time around Christmas and New Year’s to make changes, so reports like this one are no surprise… Big Bowl Noodles (on 6th Ave. btw. 37+38th), a Readers’ Poll nominee for best sit down Chinese food, is now Main Noodle House. But before Big Bowl Noodle fans get too upset… the menu, owners, and food are exactly the same- with a 25-30 cent price hike on the lunch specials (of course.)

Speaking of chains–I broke my no Mcdonalds vow after 2 plus yrs on New Yrs Day…wasn’t feeling very Chinese. I forgot how much I love a bigmac, fries and Mcd’s special brand of Coke!!! Hail to Mcdonalds! Hail! May the (on every) corner Mcdonalds never go out of business! And may it be an easy 2 more years until I am allowed to indulge again!

I’m always suspicious when a restaurant changes their name yet has the same owners. It’s usually DOH related. I’m hoping this one isn’t.

I like this place for lunch takeout. (Or did before the name change, haven’t tried since.) They give you a ton of food with the lunch special – I generally make two lunches of it – and I’m fond of their wonton soup. Szechuan Gourmet is better and more exciting, but for me, farther. They do get really crowded, though, so the key is to call in an order.

Sometimes its for taxpurposes
Walked right by this place and didnt even notice. How is the food there? Reviews I have read have said it’s horrid, but the place is rammed at lunch.
