At Lunch Now: In N Out Burger

Holidays on the west coast mean one thing. XMas Eve day lunch at In N
Out Burger. How could I not?

If you’re at work today, sorry. Hopefully looking at my double double
with cheese will put a smile on your face, but I’m guessing it probably
won’t.

Merry Christmas from Midtown Lunch!

  • That is a cruel and sick joke for those who have to eat sub=par fod at the in-law’s later.

    Merry Christmas!

  • Feliz Navidad everyone!
I wish I was biting into that burger, damn, sucks to be us.
BTW…. is there a Tommy’s by you? There’s nothing like a sloppy chili burger to ring in the holidays.

  • Darn! I was hoping it might be a story about In N Out opening in Manhattan. This SoCal transplant sure does miss those Double-Doubles.

  • what’s the blob of white stuff at the top of pic of the burger, between the patty and the thin slice of tomato? Surely that is not a nugget of solidified mayo…..

  • Mmm… In-N-Out… This is a cruel joke. Will they ever consider an outpost in Manhattan? Miss those burgers and fries.

  • Rot in hell. (could you bring back a frozen one for me?)

  • Damn, I love In-N-Out. I had t visit the in-laws in Florida and had to settle for a Sonic burger.

  • In-N-Out Burger is okay… but Joe’s Bestburger is BETTER. And no 30 min waits, no flight necessary. Just hop on the 7 train. By far the best fast food burger. Get the homerun burger… yum.

    I’ve had Tommy’s, Sonic, etc… nothing beats Joe’s.

  • i hate you.

  • i second pickled herring, fork new york and drew.

this is mean spirited business, here. the bile rising up in my throat right now is going to make what ever half-assed burger i have for lunch today that much less enjoyable.

    thanks, zach.

  • I really wish In N Out Burger would come to New England. I travel to San Diego often, but not often enough to satisfy my craving. Please some east, In N Out Burger!

  • Aww shizzles, I’m sitting at the corner of 42nd and Madison right now…everyone just ran out to Cafe Metro for lunch! Bwhahahah.

  • One of my favorite places to visit in California. Now only if they would get off their butts and spread to the rest of the country.

  • Awe, man! Speaking as a SoCal transplant and having to stick around NY for the holidays, that was one cruel joke! :) Can’t wait to get back home to dig into an animal-style Double-Double with fries and a Vanilla shake- ahhh sick!

  • TJ Jackson: the white blob is lettuce.

  • You got grilled onions on that double-double, right? Anything less would just be amateur hour.

  • Nice!
Next time you get In-N-Out make sure you ask for that double double to be Animal Style!

  • I know this is an old thread and I am going way out of bounds with this location but a burger place with a certain red roof is close to opening on Long Island (exit 61 on the LIE). Not sure if it is affiliated with the west coast In and Out Burger chain many of us know and love but the name is Joe’s In and Out Burger.

  • Not to be a killjoy but this may put a damper on the opening:

That said, I’m in the area frequently and will keep an eye out for any potential activity (maybe a name change?)

  • Update: It doesn’t look like they’ve done anything inside but what is glaring (and very sad) is that they removed the “In N Out” from the signage which now reads “Joe’s Burgers”.

I’m no lawyer, nor would I piss on one if they were on fire, but were I Joe I’d leave the name up until just before opening (if he’s not selling anything can a judgement be enforced?).

It would give as broad an audience as possible the gist of his concept. Frankly, who cares what it’s called if it delivers?
