I’ve walked by the Ambizza Cafe Truck that’s been parked at Old Slip & Water, but haven’t had the chance to try it. There was a substantial line there yesterday and a glance at the menu shows they do meat kebabs and “the city’s best kofta” as well as a lamb burger & fries for a cheap price. Has anyone tried food from this truck? I might have to check it out, simply because I don’t want to miss out on the best kofta this city has to offer.

And….No Chinese Mirch Yet Again: A look at the ML Downtown Twitter Tracker shows Chinese Mirch is planning to park near Wall & Water since every cart known to man is downtown, no Chinese Mirch for us today, but Fun Buns cart is back at Water & Pine, Bongo Brothers is at Old Slip & Water, Mexicue's at Water & Broad, Our Heros is at Wall & Water, Sweetery's at Hudson & King, Rickshaw's at Hudson & Houston and Phil's Steaks is at Water & John. The WFC lot has Milk Truck, Red Hook Lobster, Andy's Italian Ice and Taim.

Some sad news from Lunch’er Yury yesterday afternoon, who sent in the above photo of R. Retha’s Cart which got the Department of Health yellow sticker treatment on Wednesday. He took it during lunchtime when the Jamaican food cart that parks at William & Beaver was getting towed away. When I walked by this morning the truck wasn’t in its spot so it looks like it’s off the streets until they fix whatever issues need fixing. To those who work in the area, please let us know if you see the cart back in its spot.

It’s almost swimsuit season, but that doesn’t mean we should all give up things like beef stew from a cart. While walking by Sandra’s Food Spot cart on Nassau (btw. Liberty & Cedar) I noticed they had a beef stew special that day. We’ve already sampled the cart’s Puerto Rican pasteles amd tilapia (which they have Monday, Wednesday and Friday) so I figured this beef stew deserved a shot. What I found was meat and potatoes served Latin style.

It’s A Pizza Has A Cheap Deal: I normally don't post about deals that are more than $10, but there's one today from It's A Pizza on John St. (btw. Nassau & Broadway) that's pretty sweet. You can get $40 worth of food for $16 and it seems to include their whole menu. So you can buy lunch for the office while secretly being a cheapskate.
