And That’s the End of That: Yesterday afternoon Vadim from Frites N Meats emailed us his answer to Schnitzel & Things' answer to their original blog post. It doesn't actually add any new information, but to be fair to all parties involved, and in the interest of putting this whole thing to bed, we've added it onto yesterday's post for your reading pleasure. (The few of you who still care.)

Soup Nazi Returning to Midtown West: According to this article in Reuters, the "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld, and inspiration for the "Original Soup Man" franchises that have opened (and closed) all over NYC, never stopped paying rent on his original space on 55th and 8th, and will be returning soon.  Sadly, it doesn't sound like it will be open to the public.  He'll be making a new line of chilled soups. Forget Margaritas- How About Rum Spiked Custard?: I'm sure most people will be leaving work and heading straight for a margarita... but we've got a slightly different idea. According to ML contributors Blondie and Brownie, today is flan custard day at the Shake Shack! (A nip of rum, should Cinco de Mayo that right up!)

Fish Taco Shocker: Fork in the Road declares Pinche Taqueria (in Nolita) the winner over Baja Fresh in a fish taco taste off. Thank you captain obvious! What's next, Shake Shack vs. Burger King? That reminds us... whatever happened to that Pinche that was supposedly coming to Midtown East? I suppose that alone makes Baja the winner in our books.

Twitter Tracker: On the old ML Twitter Tracker today... Street Sweets is on 50th 52nd with a bunch of new specials, Cupcake Stop is on 50th, Papa Perrone has got eggplant parm, Frites N Meats is on 48th with "El Cubano", and Schnitzel & Things is in the Flatiron with veal.

Cinco de Mayo Pizza?: If you thought eating $5 Go Go Curry was a weird way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, check this one out... today, Pizza by Certe (on 56th btw. Lex+3rd) "will offer a Cinco de Mayo Pizza: Tinga (roast chipotle chicken) caramelized onion and peppers and queso fresco." [via Twitter]

No Gross Out Food Fatigue Here: If you thought KFC's double down was evidence of gross out food jumping the shark, today's Schnitzel Truck special proves that people are not sick of this stuff quite yet.  They made 25 of their "schnitzel downs" and were sold out before Noon.

20% off Crisp All Week Long: In honor of their two year anniversary Crisp, the unique falafel place with two locations in Midtown, will be offering 20% off everything all week long.  Just mention "Celebration" when you pay at the register.

Manhole Explosion Shutters New Guy & Gallard: A manhole exploded on 40th btw. 7+8th this afternoon, and while most are concerned about the safety of fellow human beings one New York Times writer is admittedly more concerned about lunch. Apparently he was excited for the opening of a new Guy & Gallard, which has been temporarily closed by the explosion.

NYDN Snubs El Rey Del Sabor: In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the New York Daily news has published their list of the top 10 taco trucks in New York City and El Rey del Sabor didn't make the list!  The only explanation I can think of is that they've never tried them.  Get on that NYDN...
