PROFILE: Midtown Lunch’er “Alex”
Every Tuesday we turn over the site to a different Midtown Lunch’er for his or her recommendations for the best lunch in Midtown. This week it’s Alex, a food startup guy who thinks Midtown needs a Skyline Chili.
Name: Alex
Age: 28
Occupation: Co-Founder of NYC and SF-based food startup Cater2.me
Where in Midtown do you work? East 44th & 3rd Ave.
Favorite Kind of Food: A steaming hot bowl of ramen
Least Favorite Kind of Food: Onions of any variety
Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch in Midtown: The Five Spice Glazed Pork Belly Sandwich from Num Pang (on 41st btw. Lex+3rd), The Grilled Half Chicken from the Famous Chicken Place (on 3rd btw. 38+39th), and the Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen from Hide Chan (on 52nd btw. 2nd+3rd).
“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? Crisp (on 3rd btw. 45+46th), Naya Express (on 3rd btw. 43+44th)
Place you discovered thanks to Midtown Lunch Bi Lokma (on 45th btw. 2+3rd), corned beef at Blarney Stone (on 3rd btw. 45+46th)
If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? Cincinnati, Ohio. For no other reason than to have easy access to Skyline Chili. They really need to open a Midtown location…
Anything you’d like to ask the midtown lunch readers? If you could transplant any midtown eatery into your office, which one would it be?
Got an answer for Alex? Put it in the comments. Want to be next week’s Profiled: Midtown Lunch’er (or know somebody you’d like to nominate)? Email editor@midtownlunch.com.

Onions, give it to us raw and wriggling.
Though, I’ll also take them grilled, fried, crispy, sauteed, boiled into stock, roasted, caramelized, pickled, or baked.
Call me the Benjamin Buford “Bubba” Blue of onions.
