Papaya King Launches Hot Dog Cart in Herald Square
After rolling out their truck earlier this year, Papaya King now also has a food cart. And it will park every day in Herald Square on Broadway and 35th Street. Right now that area is not suffering for food options (thanks to Broadway Bites), but it will be nice to get a good old fashioned New York that’s not vegan, topped with kimchi, or some other hipster variation. The cart will sell the usual dogs, fries, papaya drinks, and fried oreos. Follow their Twitter feed for the latest updates.

Speaking of hot dogs, theres been a truck park on 51st and Park on Fridays called shady dawgs hot dogs. The prices have kept me away at $4.50 for a regular dog and $6.50 for a specialty dog, but wondering if anyones tried it yet and if its worth the splurge.

I pass that in the morning, and there’s zero chance I’m going to get one hot dog for $6.50. As a friend said, they don’t seem to understand what “Frito Pie” is if they’re going to put cole slaw on a hot dog with that name.

Anyone ever see the Crif Dogs truck around? I think they were just as expensive…$5 regular dog and $6 specialty dog.
