Where to Celebrate National Brownie Day?
Today is National Brownie Day, but with the Treats Truck (my goto brownie source) parked Downtown, I’m kind of at a loss. Anybody have a brownie recommendation for those of us looking to celebrate this most important of holidays? Feel free to put it in the comments… (yes, I’m using this stupid thing as an excuse to eat a brownie today.)

AQ Cafe great? Perhaps I’m just paranoid, or enjoy rhymes a little too much, but I think Jill’s a shill.

Stop by my office building! Unbeknownst to me, I made peppermint cheesecake brownies for my department on National Brownie Day!
-
oh man, you should be having the Cream Cheese Brownie from Mangia…my favourite brownie in Midtown ^_^
-
Cucina has a similar creamcheese/cheescake brownie. If given the choice between a regular brownie and one of these, I’d opt for the latter.

dishes has a great brownie

I am SO not a shill! I just happen to really like AQ cafe. (I used to go to the Scandanavia House a lot on the weekends and fell in love with their swedish meatball dinner.) Since they’ve moved they are on my way to work so I’ve been going in for coffee and danish.
I think you are paranoid, but you are obviously a good poet. -
I don’t know, it is comments like: “The food tastes like somebody’s swedish grandma just made it for you” that make me think otherwise. Also, I will not fall your transparent attempts to flatter me, even if they are sarcastic.
And despite what some may say, my tin foil hat is necessary to keep them out of my brain.

Don’t pay attention to me. I’m in peculiar mood today. -
Fat Witch Brownie at Chelsea Market

OK, Tom, how about this: Harry’s suggestion is great. Fat Witch Brownie’s are FAR superior to anything AQ Cafe could possibly make. The best brownie in the entire universe, however, is made by Cheryl Kleinman. She’s well know in NYC for her wedding cakes, but her brownies (which used to be sold at Film Forum) are truly sublime.

I third Fat Witch – unbelievable brownies, plus they often give free samples.

Um, food goes here —> :-)

Jill, I was a huge fan of AQ on Park too but the feedback on quality and high prices after the move have been a big turn-off. Do you really think they are better than FIKA and worth the $ ?
-
but back to the question at hand, i do believe you may be able to pick up some brownies at Charbonnet et Walker in Saks, if you want to brave the crowds.

Pret-a-Manger has a mean brownie as well as chocolate chip cookies.

…..why isn’t there a National Blondie Day?
I think Bouchon bakery has a brownie, as does the new (and surprisingly great) AQ cafe.
