If you like Maoz, and don’t mind downloading a free app onto your iPhone, Android or Blackberry, you’ll want to pay attention to this one. Daily Gobble, a new app that gives you cash back from meals at participating restaurants all over NYC, wants to give you a free falafel from Maoz. All you have to do is download their app onto your iPhone, Android or Blackberry. Go eat at Maoz. Upload a photo of your receipt within 24 hours, and they’ll give you up to $6 cash back, within an hour, via Paypal. The deal is available starting today tomorrow (7/27), and goes through August 3rd. Limit one redemption per person. Cannot redeem at multiple locations. Cash redeemed cannot exceed purchase amount, and it cannot be combined with any other offers.

It was one year ago that the newest Goodburger (on 8th Ave. btw. 57+58th) opened for business, and to celebrate their first birthday they’re throwing a party. Tomorrow, Tuesday 7/26, they will be serving up $2 milkshakes and $1 burgers from Noon to 6pm, and you can see them blow out birthday candles, and score free cake, at 1pm.

The Sweetery Truck has teamed up with VISA to give away free ice cream sandwiches and whoopie pies tomorrow and Wednesday. Just use your Visa card at either of their two trucks and score the freebie. Tomorrow (Tuesday) the branded VISA truck with free ice cream sandwiches will be on 23rd and 5th from 10am to 1pm and on Park btw. 52+53rd between 2 and 4pm; and the truck with free whoopie pies (the original Sweetery Truck) will be on 50th btw. 6+7th from 8am to 4pm.  On Wednesday, the free ice cream sandwiches will be on 50th btw. 6+7th from 11am to 2pm, and the whoopie pies will be Downtown.  UPDATE: Just got some clarification… to claim your whoopie pie, you have to purchase something from the truck using your VISA card.  The ice cream sandwiches are buy one get one free (also with your VISA card, natch.)

When my lunchtime wanderings lead me to 32nd street, I generally opt for either my longtime love, Woorijip, or my more recent obsession, Food Gallery 32. Those of you who work around 53rd and 6th Ave. might have noticed this truck setting up shop today for some event… it’s actually the Bistro Truck, repurposed for a week long promotion to spread the word about turkey.  They’ll be giving out free turkey burgers every day this week starting tomorrow, but won’t be in Midtown until Friday (on 52nd and Park).  We can’t say we love turkey, but we love free stuff and the Bistro Truck can make anything taste delicious!  As for today’s craziness?  We were told it was a media only preview event… but who knows? Maybe they’ll start giving stuff away to slackjawed passerbys…

Sometimes a girl just has to have ramen. Even if it’s the middle of the summer. Even if the weather is oppressively hot. That’s what over air conditioned offices are for, right?
