Foley Square Hosting Eat Real NYC Food Festival Today

Apologies for not posting this sooner, but there’s an event involving food today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Foley Square which is over by City Hall at 60 Centre St. above Chambers. The event, Eat Real NYC, is a “field to fork festival” and farmers market and involves chefs and other vendors with things for you to eat and drink. You can buy tickets for two tastes for $10 and upward. According to the blog, there will also be a woman there selling Haitian sandwiches and other items, if that’s your jam.

Eat Cheap Pizza For Charity At Slice Out Hunger Event

Normally we keep this site focused on lunch, but an event featuring $1 slices of pizza happening downtown after work cannot be ignored. Slice Out Hunger is happening on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Church which is in Soho at Sullivan St. & W. Houston. A bunch of pizzerias donate pies, you buy tokens at the door for $1 slices, and all of the proceeds go to City Harvest. A bunch of Downtown Lunch favorites will be there like Prince St. Pizza, Da Mikele, Farinella, Ben’s of Soho and Rubirosa as well as others from pizza places all over the city. You can find all of the information on it here and maybe want to save some room at lunch tomorrow.

Check Out Downtown Eateries At Dine Around: If you're indecisive about where to eat lunch tomorrow you might want to check out the Dine Around Downtown event where 50 restaurants from the Financial District, Battery Park City and Tribeca serve food at the Chase Manhattan Plaza on Nassau St. (btw. Cedar & Pine). Most of these are pricier restaurants (aka, out of the ML price range), and you can try their food for between $3 and $7. There's a list of participating restaurants here and the event goes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., unless it rains in which case it will be held at the same time on Wednesday.
