Help Bring Gourmet Italian Coffee to the Streets of Rockefeller Center

A former employee from Wafels & Dinges is starting his own gourmet coffee cart near Rockefeller Center. Jared Domingos has worked for the waffle company for five years and is now starting his own business. He mentioned the idea to me many years ago at one of the events for the Street Vendor Project (where he is an active member). And I am very excited to see it finally get off the ground.

The cart will be called Esprezzatura Coffee and Tea and will feature Lavazza premium espresso and 100% Arabica Rainforest Alliance certified coffee on the go. In addition to providing quality espressos and lattes, Jared is also starting a pay-it-forward program where a customer can buy an extra cup of coffee that will be served to someone in the future. For those that need to brush up on their random acts of kindness.

He’s launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise the final expenses needed to get the cart on the streets in September. Check out the video and make a donation to bring quality coffee to the streets, just in time for National Coffee Day.

  • WTF is with this kickstarter shit? GO to a bank and take out a loan like a normal person.

THANK YOU!!! If I see one more GD Kickstarter because so-snd-so wants to start a food cart or needs a new food cart or wants to record an album or whatever the shit is, I’m going to lose my mind. There is a reason why these people don’t have enough money to start their own businesses. They were either too stupid to save it themselves (which doesn’t seem to bode well for them as business owners) or they couldn’t get a bank loan (probably because they have bad credit or their idea is stupid).

Thank you CheeeeEEEEse. However, between student loans and the modest ROI of a coffee cart, most traditional lending platforms are unavailable to Esprezzatura. We’re therefore trying all avenues of funding including Kickstarter.

  • Pay it forward … kickstarter … jesus wept

    • If they guaranteed to park at Rockefeller Center every morning, I would take the $149 package and then get a coffee Every. Single. Weekday.

Esprezzatura also wishes for nothing more than a guaranteed location where we may serve you every day. Fingers crossed for someday soon. Thanks for the support Dave.

We hope they’re happy tears from Jesus. We’d like to believe WWJD? He’d back the idea of helping and supporting others. Thanks for viewing.

I don’t get how a business like this will ask for your $5-10 and offer nothing in return. Sell gift cards if you need to raise cash, don’t just expect it for nothing.

Then maybe now isn’t the time to start a business. Get your personal finances in order first and then think about it. I owned my own business (at an actual brick and mortar location) for over 6 years. I went into it with no personal debt and a ton of savings to get through the first year. Just because you want to do something doesn’t mean you should. And it definitely doesn’t mean other people should fund it.
