Can Nate Appleman Make Chipotle Good?
The food media is going crazy over the news that Nate Appleman is now working for Chipotle. But all we care about is will it make the food better!? He did used to work in SF, and that city does know how to make a good burrito. Plus he’s into whole animal cooking. Could lengua be coming to Chipotle? One can only hope.

Perhaps adding a well known chef will stop them from throwing your food together as if it were a bean-bag chair assembly line.

This is pretty interesting. Grub Street said: Steve Ells has hired him full-time with an eye toward “improving the model, and focusing on cooking techniques and getting better ingredients.”
Appleman is going corporate. I don’t know if he has the temperament to handle that.
Chipotle is already pretty good. It’s not mexican by any means and isn’t a SF-style border burrito, but Chipotle is tasty.
Not that it couldn’t be improved, certainly, but it’s not garbage.
