A Waterfront Nick Elmi Experience at Morgan’s Pier
Morgan’s Pier has been doing a stellar job at bringing in new chefs each year to take over their kitchen. This year, Top Chef Winner Nicholas Elmi orchestrated a menu fit for waterfront dining. If you can’t score a reservation at Laurel- sitting outside, facing the river while dining from Elmi’s casual menu is not a bad Plan B.
Pickled pole beans ($4) from the snack menu were packed with pickling liquid without losing any snap. A great snack to go with beer or a cocktail.
Beer Battered Fish and Chips ($14) are probably one of the better versions in down. The fish, served in 3 pieces, was insanely light, crispy, and greaseless. Instead of regular old tartar, you get to dip into homemade ramp tartar. Instead of fries with malt vinegar, these fries comes with a malt vinegar powder.
