M.A.T.T.’s Food Truck Gourmet Sliders
Another one of the newer food trucks I have just come across is M.A.T.T.’s Food Truck. M.A.T.T.’s handles bite sized creations made from decadent proteins: duck, pork belly, and burgers.
The “porkie”caught my eye- pork belly, apple chutney, and honey mustard on a sizable “slider” ($4.50) that was really more like a small sandwich. The fried pork belly, was thin and bacon-like and the potent apple chutney was an unexpected and awesome accompaniment. I think the pared down menu allows this newb food truck to keep the quality up. While I’m never really craving a turkey burger, I wouldn’t be opposed to trying the “twice oinked” – the ingredients in this slider, plus applewood bacon over fries. I also wouldn’t say no to the “quakers” slider – duck confit and hoisin in a steamed bun.
THE + (What somebody who likes this place would say)
- Meat sliders for a snack or meal
THE – (What somebody who doesn’t like this place would say)
- Not much for vegetarians
