Sort of Mexican Food from El Fuego

El Fuego keeps the lunch line moving with its simple menu, consisting of burritos, tacos, or quesadillas with your choice of chicken, steak, spicy beef, chorizo, or vegetarian.

A steak quesadilla was fine. It came with sour cream and a choice of salsa. There are enough pieces to fill you up. The steak had enough of a marinade; it wasn’t the best quality meat but it wasn’t the worst either. Guacamole is extra, but worth the $2.

(not pictured) The tacos can be crunchy, in which case you get 4 of them, or soft, which you get 3 of. I ordered the soft, which were briefly heated on the grill. Maybe not long enough? This ended up being the only element of the taco that was heated, all of the other components (the lettuce, salsa, …) were cold, resulting in a taco that was really cold overall.  The temperature did not completely detract from my lunching experience. I like that the lettuce was fresh, I enjoyed the combo of the tomato based mild salsa combined with the cilantro flavored medium salsa. Each bite-sized piece of chorizo was nicely crisped and El Fuego did not skimp on the amount of meat in each taco.

This is one of those places that is fine to eat at if you are in the area, but no need to go out of your way for. Check out all my Mexican posts here.
