PROFILE: Philly Luncher “Lauren”

As we try to do at Philly Lunch, every Tuesday we turn over the site to a different lunch’er for his or her recommendations for the best lunch in Philadelphia. This week it’s Lauren who knows the good lunch spots in Chicago.

Name: Lauren

Age: 26

Occupation: Marketing Associate

Where in Philly do you Work?: A. Pomerantz & Co. located in Center City

Favorite Kind of Food: Japanese

Least Favorite Kind of Food:Indian

Favorite Place(s) to Eat Lunch in Philly: El Vez, The Corner Restaurant, and Zavino’s all located at 13th and Sansom. Favorite Dishes from El Vez include the
Mexican Chopped Salad, Beef Tacos and Black Bean Enchiladas. The Corner Restaurant makes an awesome Lobster Bisque (best I’ve ever had) and a great Cheeseburger. Zavino’s Joey pizza is delicious, as well as their daily pizza specials.

“Go-To” Lunch Place You and Your Coworkers Eat at Too Often? Honeygrow (16th and Sansom), delicious salads and stir-fry’s you can
customize with your preferred sauce/dressing and other healthy
ingredients.

If you could work anywhere (just because of the lunch) where would it be and why? Would have to be Chicago. They have so many great restaurants in this one spot on North Rush Sreet: Gibson’s Steakhouse, Rush on Tavern and The Original Pancake House, to name a few..

Is there anything you’d like to ask the Philly Lunch readers? What are some cheap healthy eats in Philly?

If you would like to be next week’s Profiled Philly Lunch’er (or know somebody you’d like to nominate), email me at jamie@midtownlunch.com.
