Crepe Town in the Bellevue Food Court Replaces Desi Chaat House

In the mood for chaat near City Hall, I headed to the basement of the Bellevue only to find that Desi Chaat House had been replaced by Crepe Town. I suppose that is the problem with getting attached to any one place in that food court; the turnover rate is crazy.

The most expensive crepe is $7.25, with most hovering around $6. The calorie counts are posted, should the numbers sway you.

Crepes come neatly wrapped up in a paper cone.  The buffalo chicken wrap was  little overloaded with lettuce and tomato. The chicken pieces were grilled, better for you, but the crunch was missed. Besides those flaws,  the buffalo sauce tasted as expected and there were sufficient chicken pieces. The dough has a nice subtle flavor. It was a decent crepe, just not memorable.

My veggie crepe was pleasantly packed full of cheese, taking something that could have been healthy and making it less so. The veggies and cheesiness made it ok that my crepe was meatless.

I would have preferred to dine at Desi Chaat House, but Crepe Town inoffensive enough. Does anyone have a favorite crepe there?

THE + (What somebody who likes this place would say)

  • Nice sized crepes for the price
  • Vegetarian and meat filled options

THE – (What somebody who doesn’t like this place would say)

  • I wish it were chaat instead of boring crepes

Definitely nice size crepes! They are NOT cheap on the products, and thats a good thing! Usually at other places crepes are overpriced and small. This place is not like that. My pesto chicken was delicious and it was very flavorful. I will come back for a dessert crepe for sure. It was very filling and i couldn’t really eat both but this is the greatest crepe place in town if you’re asking me, the prices are right, plenty of choices to pick from, friendly staff. What else can you ask for? It isn’t the Indian restaurant that was there so how can you compare Indian food to crepes…beats me.
