Don’t Snooze on Cart For A Cause: Noooo!  Cart for a Cause is on 5700 Wilshire today, but they're not doing a reprise of last week's porchetta sandwich from Sal Marino. So bummed.  Lesson learned... clearly I need to hit up Cart for a Cause every week! Today from Noon to 2pm $10 will get you this lunch from Joe Miller at Bar Pinxto (and as always all proceeds benefit St Vincent Meals on Wheels.)

Best Banh Mi is Not in the SGV: Great news for those of us banh mi fans who don't have time to tavel to the San Gabriel Valley during lunch: "The Guru" has reaffirmed Buu Dien (on Broadway in Chinatown) as the best banh mi spot in L.A. That is completely do-able for anybody who works Downtown...

Free Thai Cashew Chx Alert: The ML Cheap Chinese Food Challenge was started, in part, to encourage people to look beyond Panda Express... but how can we say no to free!  All day today (7/14) you can get a free single serving of Thai Cashew Chicken at participating Panda Express locations using this coupon. Thanks to Lunch'er William for passing it along.

Get 30% Off Ludo’s Parisian: Curious about the new Ludo Parisian Sandwich at Gram & Papa's downtown, but didn't want to spend $10.50 for a ham and cheese sandwich? Today's Blackboard Eats deal gets you 30% off breakfast or lunch at G&P. No purchase necessary, and the deal code is good until August- but you have to sign up for it before the end of today.

Libra Switches to All You Can Eat: Great news from Thrillist for all you can eat fans who work near Downtown Culver city... Libra, the newish pay by the pound churrascaria, has switched to a one price all you can eat format. It's still outside the ML $10 price range, but we'll gladly scratch them off of our "7 Reasons to Hate L.A. Lunching" list.

Free Iced Coffee Alert: Today (6/29) from 4-7pm, you can get a free 12oz iced americano, iced coffee, or iced tea from participating Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations in Los Angeles.  Freeloaders... engage.  [via Grub Street]

LA Mag’s Lunch Issue is Now Online: The newest issue of Los Angeles Magazine is out, so last month's issue- dedicated entirely to lunch- is finally online. Sandwiches, food trucks, fancy lunches and food courts, plus an embarrassingly terrible drawing of me eating a hard shell taco. I knew I was balding and not so attractive, but a hard shelled taco!?  I would never... (except that once at Tito's, and LAMag was definitely not there.)
