Tomorrow is Last Day for Vendy Nominations: Just a friendly reminder- tomorrow (4/15) is the last day that nominations will be accepted for the L.A. Vendy Awards.  Have a favorite truck you want to see at the event? You can't complain if you don't nominate them! Speaking of which, Javier (aka the Teenage Glutster) was added to the judges panel. Did we mention you should probably buy your tix now?

If You Must Double Down at KFC: Can we recommend sandwiching it inside a buttermilk biscuit? Seems like a no-brainer...

The LA Vendy Awards Just Got More Good: The first judge has been announced for the L.A. Vendy Awards, and it's Evan Kleiman... renowned chef of the Angeli Cafe and host of blah blah blah. Shit, you know who she is! Have you nominated your favorite vendor yet? Have you bought tix? What are you waiting for!?

Irish Lamb Stew Sandwich!?!: If you work Downtown I don't see how you are not going to Mendocino Farms for lunch today. They're serving up an Irish lamb stew sandwich in honor of St. Paddy's Day. It's $9.25 and available through the end of week. My lord that looks good...

Things My Mom Would Not Be Proud Of: I was Bar Mitzvah'd, but considering how much I love pork and lobster it's no surprise that the Jewish Journal and I would completely disagree about L.A.'s food scene.  I was going to post a "From a Former New Yorker" rebuttal to their "10 Reasons Why Saveur Magazine is Wrong" article, but thankfully Grub Street did it for me!

Today is a Street Food Kind of Day: Almost two weeks without street food and I'm starting to go through a bit of withdrawl... I think I might have to hit up the new Downtown L.A. food truck lot today on Alameda & Traction (the schedule is posted here.)  Or maybe stalk the India Jones truck for some kati rolls.  Can't decide!!! (Either way you know I'll be at the LA Food Truck Fest tomorrow.)
