Free Ice Cream Sandwich Alert: Coolhaus has teamed up with the USA network, and will be giving away free ice cream sandwiches all week long! (Keeping my fingers crossed for brown butter on brioche.) Today they will be at 5700 Wilshire for at least part of the day... follow their twitter account to confirm. [via Eater]

Can You Imagine?: If a law like this passed in Los Angeles?  3 parking tickets and you lose your permit!?  No food truck would last more than 3 days... here's hoping SoCal doesn't get any bright ideas from the New York City Council.

STREET Goes Mobile Today in Hollywood: Cart For a Cause will be in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater today from Noon to 2pm with Susan Feniger's STREET serving a top secret menu.  The one thing we do know... lunch will be $10, it goes to benefit City Meals on Wheels, and you'll get a cookie, pistachios and a drink along with whatever it is that Susan is making.  [via Twitter]

So That’s What Happened to Nom Nom and Grill ‘Em All: If you were wondering why the Nom Nom and Grill 'Em All trucks have completely disappeared for the past month, here is your answer. They were filming a new Food Network show called the "Great Food Truck Race", which wraps this weekend in New York City.

Downtown Spicy Fish Special: If you work Downtown, you should be excited for this: Uncle John's Ham & Eggs, the amazing diner breakfast/Chinese food mash-up is serving a spicy fried fish special this week- prepared the same way as their pork chops (fried and topped with peppers and green onions.) It's $7.25, and if you go today you can get it with egg foo young.  Nice! [via Facebook]

It’s Fried Chicken Day at Huckleberry: Bon Appetit named their 10 best places for fried chicken in the country, and in a bit of a surprise Huckleberry's friday jidori fried chicken special made the cut. At $14.50 (up $2 from last year!) it's a totally out of the ML price range, but I don't see how I can avoid the splurge... and what do you know? Today is Friday.
